The programme included visits to the Jalal Al-e Ahmad fruit and vegetable market and the Shahrvand supermarket in Argentina Square. It was organised to showcase the role of Tehran’s urban management system in meeting residents’ daily needs and supporting food security across the capital.
At the Jalal Al-e Ahmad market, Mehdi Bakhtiari-Zadeh, chief executive of Tehran Municipality’s Organisation for Fruit and Vegetable Markets, introduced the facility’s various sections and outlined its role in ensuring the daily supply of essential food items.
The delegation then visited the Shahrvand supermarket in Argentina Square, where members were briefed on the daily distribution of essential consumer goods.
Davoud Ghorbanian, chief executive of Shahrvand, welcomed the visitors and explained the company’s measures to help ensure the availability of goods required by residents. He also introduced features of the Shahrzad application, including access to a programme described as “zero inflation.”
The tour concluded with the visiting ambassadors and representatives sharing their views on the programme and the urban management capabilities presented during the visits.
