Iran Press/ Iran news: According to local media reports, a portion of the destroyer went underwater during the incident, which occurred while the ship was undergoing repair operations. The reports indicate that there were injuries as a result of the incident, and the injured personnel have been transported to the hospital.
The cause of the incident is said to be a technical failure that occurred during the repair work being carried out on the Sahand destroyer.
The Sahand is a domestically-produced Iranian naval vessel, commissioned in 2018 as part of the country's efforts to bolster its naval capabilities in the strategically important Persian Gulf region.
