The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade for Commercial Affairs Mohammad-Sadeq Mofatteh; head of Iran’s National Carpet Center Mohammad-Mahdi Farshchi-Movahhed; spokesman for the Parliament’s Economic Commission Mohammad-Ali Tavassoli; head of the Union of Handwoven Carpet Producers and Exporters Alanour Tavakoli; and chief executive of the Islamic Republic of Iran International Exhibitions Company Kasra Nouri.
Some ambassadors residing in Tehran also participated in the meeting and expressed their opinions and views on Iranian carpets.
The Romanian ambassador to Tehran called the Iranian carpet an amazing ambassador for Iran and said: "wherever you go, you see a Persian carpet. No matter where we travel, we see a Persian carpet."
The Sri Lankan ambassador also spoke about Iranian carpets in her country's palaces and the influence of Iranian culture and carpets in her country.
According to the public relations office of the Islamic Republic of Iran International Exhibitions Company, the five-day exhibition is focused on expanding the domestic market, supporting production and strengthening exports. It runs from September 8 through September 12 at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground.
The exhibition showcases the capabilities, products, and latest achievements of Iran’s Handwoven carpet industry, providing a platform for producers and exporters to present their work, strengthen commercial ties, and explore new business opportunities.
The event is also intended to help broaden market access for Iranian Handwoven carpets and create new avenues for trade and cooperation across an industry that remains closely associated with Iran’s cultural heritage and export economy.
