Continuing his intensive schedule of meetings and negotiations in Moscow, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance held discussions with top trade officials of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Seyyed Ali Madani-Zadeh continued his negotiations with Russian and EAEU economic officials by meeting with Andrey Slepnev, the EAEU Minister in Charge of Trade, and Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the union’s Secretary-General, on Tuesday.

The meetings, which were also attended by the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia and high-level economic delegations from both sides, focused on exploring avenues for developing and deepening economic and trade cooperation, addressing existing obstacles, and accelerating the completion of key transit corridors.

A primary objective of the minister’s discussions in Russia is leveraging the economic capacities of Russia and EAEU member states to help neutralize the maritime blockade and unilateral U.S. sanctions against Iran.
