The ministry strongly condemned the outrageous desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Al-Buraq Wall by the Israeli Prime Minister.
The statement highlighted that over the past three years, backed by comprehensive military, financial, and political-propaganda support from the U.S. and certain self-proclaimed human rights advocates, the occupying regime has committed one of the largest genocides in world history in Gaza. Simultaneously, it has resorted to the most heinous methods, including systematic assassination and widespread torture of Palestinians, to advance its sinister colonial eradication plan.
The foreign ministry noted that the abduction of Palestinian women and children—now exceeding 10,000—and their torture in horrific prisons, resulting in the martyrdom of dozens and the disability of hundreds more, constitutes a clear war crime and crime against humanity. The fact that an average of three Palestinian prisoners are martyred monthly under torture reflects the apartheid and colonial nature of the regime, as well as the moral decline of its supporters who remain indifferent to these gross violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.
Furthermore, the statement emphasized that the impunity granted by the U.S. to the regime—particularly through the intimidation and sanctioning of judges at international courts, as well as human rights activists and reporters—must not derail the pursuit of justice, freedom for Palestine, or the demand to prosecute and punish Israeli criminals.
Iran's Foreign Ministry added that eight decades of occupation, terrorism, lawlessness, and unprecedented crimes by the Zionist regime have inflicted the most severe blows to the credibility of the UN and international law. The regime's position as the top violator of UN resolutions, aided by the highest number of Security Council vetoes cast to shield it from accountability, demonstrates its role in eroding the organization's standing.
As the 81st UNGA session appropriately focuses on "restoring trust" in the organization, the statement stressed that every responsible government must prioritize supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to self-determination. Achieving this requires immediate action to halt the genocide, prevent the expansion of occupation and land theft, deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, and hold the perpetrators accountable.
