According to Iran Press from Islamabad, citing the Pakistan Army's Public Relations, Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of Saudi Arabia and Turkey reviewed regional security developments during the gathering.
Military officials from the three countries also discussed strengthening cooperation among their armed forces, exchanging security and military intelligence, coordinating defense efforts, and enhancing joint capabilities to counter threats.
The meeting underscored the long-standing relations and mutual trust between the people and armed forces of the three nations. Participants reiterated their commitment to strengthening defense cooperation within the framework of the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement.
Previously, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly session in New York.
During that meeting, the foreign ministers discussed the progress in implementing the Mecca defence agreement and the preliminary steps to establish its secretariat, committees, and working groups.
