Fatemeh Mohajerani added that war and diplomacy are two strategies that Iran uses in pursuit of its national interests, as she was making the remarks in her weekly press conference.
She said Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s recent address to the United Nations General Assembly reflected Iran’s “dignity and strength,” adding that he had emphasized Iran’s right to self-defense under international law.
Mohajerani said Iran was not seeking war but would remain determined to defend itself, while also stressing that Tehran was not avoiding negotiations.
Iran Files Complaint With ICAO Over U.S. Aviation Restrictions
Mohajerani criticized new U.S. restrictions affecting Iranian flights, calling them an example of “American bullying.”
She said Iran had submitted a complaint to international bodies, including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and was pursuing the issue through legal and diplomatic channels.
“The government has always sought diplomatic solutions to issues,” Mohajerani said, adding that negotiations were ongoing and that Tehran believed regional and local issues should be resolved within the region.
Iran Pursues International Legal Cases
Mohajerani said Iran is pursuing legal action at international forums over crimes committed by the United States and Israel during the 12-day war, including incidents at the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab and a stadium in Lamerd in Iran's Fars province.
She said the government was collecting evidence and complaints while pursuing the cases through Iran’s judiciary and the presidential legal affairs office, particularly its international division, with a view to using available international legal mechanisms.
Acknowledging that such proceedings can be time-consuming, Mohajerani said the government was “seriously pursuing” the cases.
