Amani made the remarks at a conference entitled “Lebanon: Two Years After the Martyrdom of Nasrallah and the Outlook for Developments,” attended by experts on Palestine and regional affairs.
“The pager operation was a pure war crime,” Amani said, adding that the devices used in the attacks had entered Lebanon before the Palestinian resistance launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on Oct. 7, 2023.
He said this showed that the Israeli regime had prepared the operation in advance rather than devising it in response to the Oct. 7 operation.
Amani, who was serving as Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon at the time of the pager attacks, was himself injured when a pager exploded during the operation.
