The operation targeted TTP hideouts in the area as part of Pakistan’s Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, the sources said, adding that the hideouts were destroyed during the raid.
Security forces also recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the militants killed in the operation, according to the sources.
Pakistani security forces have been conducting intelligence-based operations against the TTP across the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The sources said the continuing operations had inflicted significant losses on the militant group.
