The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, has issued a stern warning against potential military escalations, stating that any new conflict initiated by the U.S. or Israel would “set the entire region ablaze."

In a comprehensive statement, Major General Ali Abdollahi addressed the current geopolitical climate, asserting that Iran is currently in a position of unprecedented strength and readiness. He noted that despite recent attempts by the United States and the Israeli government to portray Iran as weakened, the nation’s military and political resilience remains intact. According to the statement, previous attempts at destabilization have failed, leaving the opposing regimes facing significant internal crises and instability.

Addressing the ongoing tensions regarding Iran’s nuclear program, General Abdollahi dismissed recent claims of a military shift in Iran’s nuclear posture as “purely delusional.” He characterized these allegations as psychological warfare aimed at justifying potential aggression, reiterating that Iran’s nuclear activities remain strictly under peaceful auspices and in compliance with international norms, despite what he termed the “baseless provocations” of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and certain political actors.

He also issued a direct warning regarding the role of U.S. military presence in the region. He stated that the presence of American forces is the fundamental driver of regional insecurity and economic instability. Furthermore, he warned that any military action taken by the U.S. or its allies would result in an immediate, intense, and “painful” retaliation against U.S. interests, without restriction.

Concluding his remarks, the military chief sent a clear message to both regional allies of the U.S. and international organizations: any miscalculation that leads to a new war would not only fail to achieve the aggressors’ goals but would instead result in “divine and military retribution” that would destroy their ambitions. He reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty against any threat, at any level, at any time.
