Khaled Al_Qaddoumi said that October 7 brought the Palestine issue back to the center of attention of international circles, human rights institutions, and legal bodies. He added that today, no one can ignore the Palestinian people and the Palestine issue, noting that October 7 even changed the region's equations.
He recalled the words of the martyred Saeed Yahya Sinwar, who said in his speech: "We will change the face of the region. We will re-engineer the region, we will change the region's shape." Qaddoumi said Sinwar spoke correctly and appropriately, explaining that relations with Israel are not necessarily an advantage or a path to salvation—rather, for many countries, it has become a complex political and even moral issue. He described Israel as "the most unpopular regime in America and Europe."
Qaddoumi explained that what Netanyahu imagined as a doctrine—namely, resolving the Palestine issue not through negotiation with the Palestinians but through weakening, expelling, and eliminating them, and then normalizing Israel's relations with the Arab and Islamic world—practically faced a serious challenge.
He noted that the Palestinians were able to cross the regime's security barriers and fences and enter the occupied territories, something that had not happened for a century. He added that if more capabilities and support had been available to them and the international community had not left them alone, they could have achieved greater military gains. He also pointed out that the Palestinians managed, by capturing a large number of Israelis, including soldiers, settlers, and armed individuals, to free hundreds of their own prisoners from Israeli prisons.
Qaddoumi stressed that October 7 showed the Zionist regime was not prepared and that the Palestinians were able to surprise it. More importantly, he said, all Palestinians proved that despite geographical and military limitations, Israel can be defeated.
Brigadier General Ramadan Sharif, for his part, said that the Al-Aqsa Storm operation is a military operation. He explained that the struggle of the Palestinian people against the Zionist regime has continued for decades, but this operation was carried out at a time when, from the Zionists' perspective, the Palestine issue was over.
He added that the Zionists repeatedly claimed they had drawn a secure and unconquerable fortress around themselves and that no one had the ability to confront them. They would say that in their war with the Arabs, they had defeated several Arab countries together, and no one could confront them. They said this quite openly, and from their perspective, the Palestine issue was finished.
Sharif stated that, in his view, the Al-Aqsa Storm operation once again showcased the spirit of the Palestine issue being alive to the world and placed the Zionists under severe pressure.
