Demonstrations commemorating the third anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood met with police intervention at university campuses in London today.

As a response to over 7 decades of the Irsaeli occupation and killing of the palestinian people and usurping their lands, Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was conducted by the Palestinian resistance groups; an operation that pushed Israel to the edge of the abyss.

Authorities enforced strict movement restrictions and deployed heavy reinforcements to contain student protesters. The demonstrations, which brought together students honoring martyrs in Gaza, Yemen, Iran, Lebanon, Sudan, faced immediate disruption from law enforcement. Citing legal sections, police forced the student groups to abandon their initial assembly point, effectively relocating the protest under duress.

Tensions escalated as pro-Israel counter-protesters arrived on the scene. Observers reported that police presence was notably non-neutral, and that officers failed to manage provocations from the Israeli counter-demonstrators fairly, thereby intensifying the volatility of the standoff.

As the student protest tried to regroup and march toward a secondary location, the situation deteriorated further by the police. Authorities have now initiated measures to “kettle” the protesters, confining them to a restricted area to prevent movement, and have issued mandatory orders for all attendees to remove face coverings.

While the protest remains ongoing, at least one arrest was confirmed in the initial stages of the demonstration. The march continues under heightened surveillance.
