A seminar was held in Islamabad on Wednesday to mark the third anniversary of the October 7, 2023 Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, bringing together prominent religious, political and social figures, along with a large number of women who expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The event was organized by Tehreek-e-Bedari Ummat-e-Mustafa (PBUH). Speakers included Hujjat-ul-Islam Wal-Muslimeen Maulana Shafqat Abbas, Islamabad’s Grand Mufti Maulana Gulzar Naeemi, Traders’ Union of Pakistan representative Kashif Chaudhry, Friends of Palestine leader Mohammad Al-Muzaaini, and women’s leader Zahra Ali.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers highlighted the significance of the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and Palestinian resistance. They said the events of October 7 had altered the international narrative surrounding Palestine and exposed, in their view, the realities underlying the conflict.

The speakers also paid tribute to Palestinian mothers who have lost their children, stressing that Palestinians had faced violence and displacement for decades before October 7. They argued that resistance remained a means through which oppressed peoples could challenge occupation and injustice.

Speaking about Yemen, Maulana Gulzar Naeemi rejected the characterization of Ansarullah as “rebels,” saying those who support Israel and its allies were on the wrong side of the conflict.

The Grand Mufti also called for greater unity among Muslims and warned against sectarianism and takfiri divisions, urging Muslims to overcome internal differences and maintain support for the Palestinian cause.

Other speakers similarly called for a stronger and more unified response to developments in Palestine and urged Muslims to “correct their course” while maintaining solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The seminar concluded with slogans in support of Palestine and resistance.
