Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators took to the streets of Athens and other Greek cities, marching from the U.S. Embassy to the Israeli Embassy to express solidarity with the Palestinian people on the third anniversary of the Gaza war, which began on October 7, 2023.

Athens (IP) - The demonstrations brought together anti-war groups, trade unions, left-wing political parties, student organizations, and migrant and refugee communities, including Palestinians. The protesters also expressed solidarity with demonstrations held in more than 60 countries.

Chanting slogans demanding freedom for Palestine, the demonstrators called for an end to Israeli military operations in Gaza, the occupation of Palestinian territories, and the displacement of Palestinians.

They also demanded recognition of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination. Protesters carried banners and placards expressing support for Palestine and chanted slogans against the Israeli regime, the United States, and the Greek government over their policies.
