The Public Relations Office of the IRGC Navy announced that a violating container ship, which intended to pass through the unauthorized and high-risk route of the Strait of Hormuz, struck a sea mine, exploded, and suffered a severe fire.
The ship, carrying more than 2,500 containers, sank this morning in the southern waters of the Strait of Hormuz due to the intensity of the fire.
The IRGC Navy has repeatedly warned that the Strait of Hormuz remains under its full control and that any vessel attempting to transit through unauthorized routes does so at its own peril.
