Iran’s Foreign Ministry has summoned Germany’s ambassador to Tehran in protest against repeated baseless accusations by German officials against the Islamic Republic.

During the meeting, the assistant foreign minister and director general for Western Europe conveyed Iran’s strong objection to what the ministry called the “disgraceful” approach adopted by some German officials toward Iran.

The Iranian official also told the ambassador that attempts to accuse Iran in order to divert attention from Germany’s responsibility for supporting and participating in the U.S.-Israeli military aggression against Iran would not deter Tehran from pursuing Germany’s international legal responsibility.

He stressed that Iran would continue to seek accountability for Germany’s involvement in war crimes committed during the U.S.-Israeli war of aggression against the country.
