Major General Ali Abdollahi, chief of staff of Iran’s Armed Forces and commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said Iranian forces had rendered the U.S. Navy ineffective through their capabilities and reliance on God.
He said U.S. President Donald Trump and senior American officials had long portrayed the Navy as a symbol of Washington’s military power and used it to threaten countries across the region and beyond.
“Under no circumstances will we allow U.S. military vessels to enter the Persian Gulf,” Abdollahi said, adding that Trump would have to “dream” of American forces returning to the waterway.
Abdollahi also challenged Trump’s repeated claims that U.S. attacks had destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities, questioning why Washington continued to insist that Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons if its nuclear infrastructure had already been eliminated.
He described the statements as contradictory and repeated claims aimed at misleading global public opinion, particularly the American public.
The Iranian commander further questioned why U.S. warships and military personnel were reluctant to approach the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s maritime and land borders if Washington had indeed destroyed the country’s military capabilities, as Trump has claimed.
Abdollahi said Iran’s leadership, people, Armed Forces and officials were determined to deepen the challenges facing the United States and the Israeli regime, which have done aggressions against the Islamic Republic.
He added that Iran’s strategy was to ensure that any prolonged confrontation would further weaken its adversaries, saying they would become increasingly trapped in a crisis of their own making.
