In a message posted on Instagram, Araghchi said the recent meeting in Tehran involving Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye provided a valuable opportunity to advance dialogue on regional peace and security and address shared threats and challenges.
He described the agreement to continue consultations as an important step toward stronger regional cooperation, stressing that translating the diplomatic opportunity into lasting collaboration would require mutual trust, respect for sovereignty and practical commitments.
Araghchi also underscored the need to counter the Israeli regime’s acts of aggression and destabilization, saying such efforts were essential to protecting countries’ independence and sovereignty and preventing the expansion of war.
“From the perspective of the Islamic Republic of Iran, sustainable security must be achieved through the participation of regional countries, without the military presence or interference of extra-regional powers,” he said.
Emphasizing that regional countries must take responsibility for determining their own destiny, the foreign minister reiterated Iran’s diplomatic priority of strengthening ties with neighboring states under the motto: “Our Neighbors, Our Priority.”
