Ayatollah Khamenei stated that if enemies launch military or terrorist attacks again, it will be the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian nation that determine when and under what conditions the confrontation ends.
He also called for strengthening military intelligence, deepening indigenous defense capabilities in the two areas of doctrine and tactics, advancing modern defense and security capabilities through the use of new technologies, and reinforcing the spiritual strength and jihadist morale of the Armed Forces. He stressed that these efforts must go hand in hand with tireless work to meet the forces’ livelihood needs and provide them with support.
In another directive, the Leader ordered the target bank to be updated in a way that places all types of material and non-material assets belonging to the U.S.-Israeli enemy within the reach of Iran’s Armed Forces.
He described national support for the Armed Forces as one of the pillars of deterrence against anti-Iran foreign powers and their domestic mercenaries. He added that the Iranian people’s eight-month presence in the streets is an extension of the eight-year Sacred Defense (the Iran-Iraq War 1980-1988), saying that, alongside the steadfastness of the military, law enforcement and Basij forces, the people have protected and will continue to protect Iran’s territorial integrity and the Islamic system.
The Leader praised the steadfastness and prudent conduct of the Resistance Front in various countries, describing unity among its different fronts as a decisive factor with strategic implications for shaping a new political and security order in West Asia. He expressed hope that this new order would increasingly foster unity among Muslim nations and governments and pave the way for the formation of a new Islamic civilization.
During the meeting, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Ali Abdollahi, Chief Commander of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran Major General Amir Hatami, and the Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Ahmad Vahidi briefed the Leader on the readiness of the country’s defenders along the Persian Gulf coast, in operational areas around the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman, and along Iran’s northwestern and southeastern borders. They also reported a several-fold increase in the production of various types of ammunition and reconnaissance, support and combat weapons.
Expressing satisfaction with the work carried out, the Leader asked the senior military commanders to convey his gratitude and appreciation to all military, law enforcement and Basij personnel, employees of these organizations and the Ministry of Defense, as well as their families.
