Faisal Abad (IP)- Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs and Senator Rana Sanaullah has attributed Pakistan’s rising inflation to the ongoing US-Iran conflict, saying the government cannot be blamed for the economic impact of the war.

Addressing a gathering in Faisalabad, Rana Sanaullah said US President Donald Trump started the war, while Iran responded with full force. He said Pakistan had appealed to both sides to end the conflict.

Acknowledging public concerns over rising prices, the senator remarked that the responsibility for the current inflation could lie with Trump rather than the Pakistani government.

He said Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to help end the Iran war had enhanced the country’s standing internationally, adding that Field Marshal Asim Munir had also played an important role in efforts to stop the conflict.

Rana Sanaullah further said that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz had disrupted gas supplies from Qatar, while an end to the war could lead to lower petrol prices and improve Pakistan’s economic situation.

He expressed optimism that peace in the region would help Pakistan move towards economic stability and prosperity.
