Iran’s Economy Minister Ali Madanizadeh says repeated U.S. attempts to bring Iran’s economy to collapse have failed despite continued sanctions and mounting economic pressure.

Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Ali Madanizadeh, has stressed that foreign pressure aimed at bringing down the country’s economy has failed, saying repeated attempts by its adversaries to push the Iranian economy into collapse have yielded no results.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 42nd Meeting of Ministers of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) in Istanbul, Turkey, Madanizadeh pointed to the economic impact of developments in the region in recent months.

He said sharp increases in energy prices, inflation and economic stagnation had affected many countries in the region, adding that these challenges were not confined to Iran.

Madanizadeh said discussions among member states at the COMCEC meeting would focus on assessing the economic situation resulting from recent regional developments and exploring ways to address their consequences.

He also highlighted the importance of expanding foreign trade, saying Iran would seek to identify new avenues and opportunities for developing economic and trade relations with other countries in order to thwart plans targeting the Iranian economy and successfully overcome the current situation.
