The Leader said November 4, known as the 13th of Aban in the Iranian calendar, was an occasion to reaffirm Iran’s determination to resist U.S. pressure and aggression. He called for a review of the historical roots of Washington’s hostility toward Iran, saying it would help guide the country’s future course.
Tracing the confrontation back more than seven decades, he cited the 1953 coup against Iran’s government, U.S. support for the Pahlavi monarchy, economic sanctions, the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and direct military attacks on Iran.
He said successive U.S. administrations had sought to impose their dominance on Iran and force the country into submission, but had repeatedly encountered the resistance of the Iranian people.
The Leader also accused Washington of seeking to undermine Iran’s territorial integrity, political system and cultural heritage, saying such efforts had imposed high costs on the United States and its allies.
Referring to developments in the Persian Gulf, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran’s management of the strategic waterway and the destruction of U.S. military bases in regional countries had been responses to American aggression during the 'Third Imposed War.'
He described the measures as both a response to the attacks and an initial regional campaign against 'global arrogance,' warning that any renewed aggression would prompt a much broader response.
The leader also praised the 'unity and growing strength of the resistance front,' from Palestine and Lebanon to Iraq and Yemen.
He said the combination of Iran’s resolve, regional resistance and the sacrifices of those opposing U.S. hegemony offered a promising prospect for a new international order.
Ayatollah Khamenei concluded that a united front grounded in faith, perseverance and sacrifice would ultimately prevail over its adversaries, regardless of their power or capabilities.
