Iranian Parliament Speaker reacted to U.S. Vice President's post discussing the reasons behind Republicans’ failure in the 2026 U.S. midterm elections.

In a post on X, Ghalibaf wrote on Thrsday: “A losing gambler’s energy — unable to walk away from the table. The boss is preparing the next phase of the war while America teeters on an Israel-First cliff. Skip the TED Talk. Why not say this to your boss?”

As the U.S. Vice President JD Vance's November 4 post on X, the main reason the Republican Party lost the 2026 midterm elections was the war against Iran.

Vance wrote: “The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.”

He identified four major reasons why voters who supported Donald Trump and JD Vance in the 2024 presidential election switched their support to Democratic candidates in 2026:

1) Voters wanted the Trump administration to end the war; 2) Rising living costs and inflation; 3) Voters wanted the administration to prioritize America's domestic interests; and 4) Voters wanted a change in the U.S. relationship with Israel.

The latest reported results of the U.S. election led to a sweeping Democratic victory in the U.S. midterm elections held on November 3. Democrats have taken control of both chambers of Congress, ending Republican control of the House and Senate.

As reports say, in the Senate, Democrats have taken control, with an early tally of 54 seats against 44 for Republicans. In the House, Democrats have won control, with 231 seats against 141 for Republicans.
