Russian President Vladimir Putin and Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, has met and held talks in Kremlin, Russia’s Interfax reported.

Kremlin Spokesman Igor Kostyukov said that Head of Russia’s Military Intelligence Organization, Igor Kostyukov, and the Russian President’s Foreign Policy Aide, Yuri Ushakov, were also present at the meeting.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretariat said Rezaei, who serves as the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and secretary of the council, met Putin during his visit to Moscow and delivered a message from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the Russian president.

Prior to the meeting, Rezaei held a telephone conversation with Putin on November 2, during which he thanked the Russian president and other Russian officials for their explicit positions in praising the role of the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution and other prominent Iranian national figures, as well as their support for the resilience and steadfastness of the Iranian people.

During that phone call, Rezaei also stressed the importance of continuing strategic cooperation between Iran and Russia.

Meanwhile an informed source told Al Mayadeen that Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, discussed the issue of ending the war during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Iran has previously stressed that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until all seven of its conditions are fully met, and that it will not hold negotiations on the matter before then.
