The Iranian pavilion offered visitors an opportunity to explore the country’s rich civilisation, traditional arts and handicrafts, emerging as one of the festival’s main attractions.
Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, the chief guest at the opening ceremony, visited the pavilion, where Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam and embassy officials introduced him to various aspects of Iran’s cultural heritage.
Iqbal showed particular interest in Iranian artworks and handicrafts, especially Isfahan’s traditional enamelwork, praising the artisans’ craftsmanship.
Live calligraphy demonstrations by Iranian artists were another highlight. At visitors’ requests, the artists inscribed their names and Quranic verses, offering the pieces as keepsakes.
The Iranian Embassy also welcomed visitors with traditional sweets, including gaz, giving them a taste of the country’s culinary heritage.
Through its display of art, craftsmanship, and traditional hospitality, the pavilion offered a glimpse of Iran’s cultural diversity and helped foster closer people-to-people ties between Iran and Pakistan.
