Issuing a statement on Sunday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said that Iranian intelligence forces are monitoring the Scorpion Strike task force’s movements, operations, and launching origins. The U.S. formed and deployed the unit in West Asia to use large numbers of LUCAS one-way attack drones.
The IRGC explained that LUCAS is a low-cost U.S. attack drone modeled on Iran’s Shahed-136 drone. Washington aims to use sheer numbers to expand its drone-strike capacity and pressure Iran’s air defense network.
The statement added that the electronic warfare unit and air defense units of the IRGC Aerospace Force have used advanced detection, tracking, and counter-drone systems to identify and neutralize the Task Force Scorpion Strike hostile actions.
It added that intelligence and technical studies of the drones’ operating patterns, structure, and launch points are underway and changing flight tactics, adding more munitions, or using different launch platforms will not make the drones immune to Iran’s defensive measures.
The IRGC said it is fully prepared to respond to any renewed aggression and flight origins and facilities tied to the deployment of the attacking systems are being assessed as part of Iran’s defensive planning.
"Responsibility for any hostile action against Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity will fall on its planners, commanders, and perpetrators, as well as the countries hosting them," the IRGC concluded.
