Brigadier General Shekarchi made the remarks in an interview on Sunday, commenting on the Republicans’ crushing defeat in the US midterm elections held earlier this week.
The Republican Party of President Donald Trump lost control of both chambers of Congress to the Democrats, with Washington’s war against Iran and its subsequent economic troubles playing a key role in shaping voters’ choices.
“The political and electoral developments in the U.S. and repeated defeats suffered by the Trump administration and his fellow Republicans on various fronts are not merely the result of superficial fluctuations in the country’s domestic politics; rather, they reflect a bigger and undeniable reality: defeat in the face of Iran’s unwavering resolve,” Shekarchi stressed.
He stated that no fair-minded analyst could deny the defeat of Washington’s military doctrine, maximum pressure and assassination campaign, as well as its other “ineffective” military strategies, in the face of Iran’s deterrent and crushing power and the strong resolve of its Leadership, people and Armed Forces.
He underlined that Trump and his like-minded “reckless, extremist and terrorist allies” had entered the field, seeking to destroy a civilized and proud Iran, but on the contrary, they ultimately fell victim to their own strategic attrition, deep internal crises, and the defeats inflicted by the Iranian Armed Forces and the Resistance Front.
Iranian Armed Forces spokesperson said that any power that stands against the firm and divine will of the Islamic Republic of Iran is doomed to fail and lose all credibility in the eyes of world public opinion.
